I am one of the lucky builders. I have the privilege of walking the land where the first settlers came. Where our nation’s Indians lived off the earth. For this moment of time, I get to add my fingerprint to the important homes of this country. Hopefully, I can add value to this evolutionary process that really started as shelter hundreds of years ago.
Whether it’s changing the environmental footprint of these artistic homes or inventing a new concept like our indoor-outdoor kitchen, I’m always mindful that these aren’t structures. They are memory builders and in these times protection for the families that trust this process to me.

Michael Burns has decades of experience as a high-end builder, first in Westchester, then in New York City, and since 1999 in the Hamptons. Michael was responsible for the renowned Grand Central Terminal renovation, which was subsequently listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
